The HUNT is OVER!

So, my friend Ashley came to me and asked if I could make the grooms cake for her wedding. Chris (her now husband) is really into hunting and she suggested a deer head. After researching, I didn't really want to do a sheet cake with a deer head laying flat. I thought it would be cool to have it coming out of the cake! Here is the final result....
Here's what it looked like in the process. The head is made of rice krispie treat, that I then carved and covered in fondant. The antlers, sign and the ears are made out of gumpaste. This was pretty challenging, but not nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be!
The cake is Red Velvet with a cream cheese frosting.

Blue Orchid and Calla Lily Cake

Lana and Brad--- July 13, 2012! ---Congratulations!
Lana and Brad chose a chocolate cake with swiss buttercream and a lemon cake with raspberry filling.
The flowers are all hand made with gumpaste and then painted. I had a blast making this cake, and it was an honor to witness the marriage of these two wonderful people!
